Project Risk Standards Manager

We’re looking for a Project Risk standards Manager. Based at our Capenhurst site, the purpose of the role is to ensure adequate and consistent standards in project risk management in Urenco’s project portfolio. The Project Risk Manager’s remit includes the proficient application of standards and responsibility for the risk management output in Urenco’s project portfolio. Urenco Group’s global project portfolio of small and medium projects accumulating up to €100 million annual CAPEX. Select projects ranging from €50 million to in excess of €500 million.

The Project Risk Standards Manager will assume functional accountability for the effective application of Urenco standards for all Urenco business units, and be responsible for risk management output for Urenco projects at all locations.

The Project Risk Standards Manager will be the subject matter expert at Urenco for problem solving, consulting, advice, instruction and the training of all Risk Management. The role will be accountable for the development and maintenance of Urenco’s processes and procedures for project risk management and setting the direction in with Urenco delivers risk management.

The Group Projects Risk Manager will be the strategic lead for the direction of risk management at Urenco, having responsibility for influencing changes and driving best practice.

What you’ll do:

• Have accountability for risk management standards
• Ensure alignment between the business objectives and the project risk standards
• Active participation in assurance reviews reporting to COO / CTO level
• Maintain an overview of all risk practitioner and project controllers skills and competencies
and provide development of project support resources both contract and staff
• Being technical expert for all risk management issues and concerns at all Business
Units
(including the use of risk management software)
• Approval of exceptions and deviations from standards
• Quality control of project risk management deliverables
• Integrate with various Group Project functions
• Leveraging experience from a number of industry sectors and continuously scan the
international market for good practice, analyzing developments and assessing how they
can be exploited by Urenco to further value creation/delivery/capture/protection
• The role will ensure knowledge is retained and transferred inter-Urenco and undertake
lessons learned reviews to promote continuous improvement in all planning and
scheduling practices.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

• Line management experience – role has 5-10 direct reports of differing levels of experience and global location
• Project risk subject matter expert – needs to have significant experience in risk management – the role is to be the focal point for all project risk management across the company.
• Comfortable in rolling out training and guidance
• Mentoring / guidance to junior team members
• Experience in a comparable industry / company – i.e. one delivering major capex projects
• Experience dealing with senior stakeholders
• Understanding of risk modelling / analysis and experience of risk management software – ARM, PRA, @risk
• Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline
