Head of Design Authority

We’re looking for a Head of Design Authority. Based at our Almelo or Gronau locations, the role offers hybrid working (3 days on site, 2 days working from home).

Based at our Almelo or Gronau locations (either site would be suitable) you’ll formm part of the Engineering & Design Authority leadership team. This function will provide the centre of excellence regarding Plant Design and Technology, Design Assurance and Governance for the entire Urenco Group.

- Engineering and Design Authority is a Global function that provides Engineering services to supports Urenco’s operations in order to improve performance and to solve complex technical/design issues delivers the design of Urenco’s Core Facilities, including oversight of external design & engineering service providers provides full governance, assurance and design expertise provides Engineering services to Group and Site project teams provides independent role of Project Assurance.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and design and
- understanding of the nuclear industry.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of high hazard
- safety environments, and the regulatory environment
- Understanding of commercial market and developments
- that will impact the business/ engineering
- Experience of knowledge management, and analysis
- and prioritisation
- Working with and managing external vendors
- Experience of managing and influencing stakeholders as
- a ‘support’ or ‘advisory’ function
- Successfully leading teams to deliver projects across
- international boundaries.
- Leading the development and delivery of major
- engineering design projects.
- Project management skills in complex and technical
- engineering environments.
- Experience of working with a range of plant operational
- environments including technical, engineering.
- Leading visible and important projects and initiatives in changing and challenging financial situations.
- Actively collaborates to form winning teams
- Embraces continuous improvement and innovation
