Morson Talent is currently seeking a highly skilled Highway Structural Engineer for an exciting opportunity in London. In the key role of Highway Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, assessment, and maintenance of highway structures, including bridges, tunnels, and other critical infrastructure. You will ensure that all projects meet the highest standards and comply with relevant guidelines, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Eurocodes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the assessment, design, and maintenance of highway structures.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations for asset management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, bar bending schedules, and produce detailed sketches.
- Manage asset condition data and develop asset investment strategies.
- Deliver value engineering and manage project resources, budgets, and capital programmes.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement and technical approval processes.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Chartered status (e.g., ICE or IStructE) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in highway structural design, assessment, and maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of asset management practices for highway structures.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental legislation related to highways.
- In-depth understanding of DMRB, MCHW, and Eurocodes.
- Experience in stakeholder management and project delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and asset management systems.
Additional Qualifications:
- Expertise in British Standards for highway structures.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, including the Highways Act.
