Senior Project Manager
Location: Milton Keynes (2-3 days per week)
Rate: £70 ph (maximum)
Start Date: 1st April 2025
Duration: 12-18 months
Morson Talent are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to support a leading infrastructure client on a key rail safety project, based in Milton Keynes. This role is due to commence on the 1st April 2025, and you will be replacing a permanent team member. The position is expected to last at least 12 months, with the possibility of extension. As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of a remote securing app and associated safety and technical documentation on the rail network.
Key Responsibilities:
Remote Securing Project Management:
- Oversee the development and integration of a Remote Securing App, working with supply chain partners, including engineers from the client’s team.
- Ensure all technical documentation, including Safety Justification Reports, System Definition Reports, and Safety Assessment Reports, are delivered and reviewed.
- Manage product acceptance, ensuring that the app meets all necessary safety, compliance, and technical requirements.
Stakeholder and Interface Management:
- Work closely with the client’s safety and engineering teams, managing interfaces with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the presentation of safety and trial documentation to the Electrical System Review Panel (ESRP) to gain necessary endorsements and approvals for trials.
- Manage the trial process, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved, including trial planning, isolation planning, and training.
Trial Management:
- Oversee remote securing trials in the NW&C region (Sandwell & Dudley Delivery Unit and Rugby ECR), ensuring the trials are executed effectively and according to plan.
- Manage the distribution of mobile phones, oversee the download process, and ensure proper briefing and training are conducted for trial teams.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure all required deliverables are completed on time, including the completion of testing, engineering compliance certifications (ECC), and collation of evidence for safety reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive tracking of the deliverables log and service readiness.
Key Requirements:
- Significant experience in Project Management within rail infrastructure, ideally with a technical or electrical background.
- Proven experience with Product Acceptance and PACE stages (including GRIP and similar frameworks).
- Strong understanding of safety management, including the preparation of safety documentation such as Safety Justification Reports and Safety Assessment Reports.
- Experience overseeing remote trials, managing trial planning, and interfacing with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of IT and systems integration in the rail sector would be highly beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and ensure effective communication across teams.
Additional Information:
- This role will be based in Milton Keynes, with a requirement to be on-site 2-3 days a week.
- Expenses will be paid separately.
- The client is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, with a project timeline of at least 12 months, potentially extending up to 18 months.
