Four Morson Group champions feature in 2025 Northern Power Women Awards shortlist
Morson Group is proud to see four employees featured across the 2025 Northern Power Women Awards!
The Northern Power Women Awards celebrate individuals and organisations championing gender equality and driving significant positive change in the North of England. Established as part of the Northern Power Women movement, these awards are a cornerstone for recognising diverse leadership and promoting the success of women in professional, social, and cultural spheres.
Group COO Adrian Adair and Rail Director Gary Smithson featured in the Advocacy list, recognising male allies who are leaders, and influencers committed to advancing gender equality, equity and inclusivity. These individuals actively advocate for gender equality and use their power to create a more equal society.
Group HR Director Katie Winstanley was among the shortlist for Empowerment Champion. This award is awarded to the individual at any career stage who actively empowers others. It celebrates those who uplift and elevate others by using their power for good, by using their influence, sponsorship, personal relationships and passion to support others.
Finally, recently qualified solicitor Joyce Teifouet of the Morson Group legal team featured in the Game Changers Future List, which recognises the trailblazers, change-makers and future leaders who are already leaving a significant impact on their organisations and communities whilst accelerating gender equality, equity and inclusion.
Launched to address the need for greater representation and inclusion in business and community leadership, the awards honour achievements across industries, ensuring the accomplishments of women and their allies are acknowledged and amplified. The event showcases role models who inspire future generations to strive for equality and highlights organisations that demonstrate a commitment to fostering inclusive environments.
Held annually, the awards draw attention to trailblazers who challenge stereotypes and contribute to the Northern economy and society. The Northern Power Women Awards are unique in their emphasis on storytelling. Nominees are selected not only for their achievements but also for their ability to inspire and motivate others through their journeys. This narrative approach ensures that each story told serves as a beacon of possibility for aspiring leaders and change-makers.
The awards ceremony, on Thursday 6th March at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, brings together thought leaders, business professionals, and community activists. It is more than an awards night—it’s a platform for networking, sharing ideas, and sparking collaborations.
Speaking of his inclusion on the list, COO Adrian Adair said:
“From both a personal and professional perspective, I’m delighted to be included as an Advocate in the Northern Power Women Awards. The organisation has been close to my heart for a number of years and I’m proud to be part of a group that is committed to amplifying voices, championing diversity, and driving meaningful change. But this recognition isn’t just about one individual—it’s a reflection of the collective strength we build by supporting and uplifting each other, which is why it’s inspiring to see three other Morson colleagues celebrated. Let’s continue breaking barriers, inspiring the next generation, and proving that leadership and innovation thrive when equity and inclusion are at the heart of progress.”
Katie Winstanley, Group HR Director at Morson, said:
“Being shortlisted for the Northern Power Women Awards as an Empowerment Champion is a real privilege. For me, empowerment is about helping others see their potential, helping to creating opportunities, and making a meaningful impact to people’s lives. It’s a reminder that even small efforts to empower others can lead to significant outcomes, and I’m grateful to be part of a community that values and amplifies these efforts.”
Congratulations to all of our shortlisted colleagues!
