Following on from another successful year of fundraising, Morson Group is delighted to announce that we will be supporting two brand new charities in 2025: Prostate Cancer UK and Destination Florida.

Morson charities

Each year, Morson colleagues nominate charities which have a special significance to them. These are then put into a shortlist, with the final votes being cast to decide on the winners, with one larger national charity and one smaller regional charity voted on to become the picks for the following year.

Throughout 2024, our chosen charities were Dementia UK and Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Fundraising activity throughout the year included golf days, a bike ride through Normandy to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, bake sales, dress down days, marathons and much more. The money raised by our colleagues across the Group is then matched by the business, doubling to overall total to be split between the two organisations.

Prostate Cancer UK

With 1 in 8 men being diagnosed in their lives, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, especially those over the age of 50, black or have a family history of the disease. However, the earlier it’s found, the easier it is to treat.

Prostate Cancer UK has invested over £75 million towards research with the aim of ensuring men suffering from this disease can get the right treatment at the right time. Advances in testing, scanning and screening are among the successes that they’re already helped to achieve.

Destination Florida

Destination Florida is a children’s charity based in Salford that helps children facing significant challenges experience a life-changing trips to Florida, empowering them to embark on a journey beyond their imagination and giving them moments of joy and respite.

The trip, which takes place every two years, is funded exclusively through donations and sees the children visit the premier theme park destinations in Florida, including Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Universal Studios.

Morson has had a long standing relationship with Destination Florida, with our CEO Ged Mason being involved with the charity for over 25 years as a patron and a volunteer on each of the trips. He is currently also serving as Deputy Chairman of the organisation.

Formed in 2007, our charity committee continues to lead our fundraising efforts as we pledge each year’s support to multiple worthy causes. In the last 10 years, we’ve raised over £2 million for worthy causes throughout the UK, such as Brain Tumour Research, British Heart Foundation, Salford University, the Seashell Trust, Alzheimer’s Society, Crohn’s & Colitis UK and many more.

By supporting Prostate Cancer UK and Destination Florida, the company is not only making financial contributions but also raising awareness about these important causes. It’s a testament to the power of positive change that can be achieved when a community comes together for a common cause.

Our business is defined not by what we gain but by what we give back. Find out more about Morson’s commitment to charity and community.
