Morson Group celebrates record-breaking donation to British Heart Foundation and Brain Tumour Research
At Morson Group, the spirit of giving is deeply ingrained in our company culture, with care being one of the four core values that is the rich tapestry of our business.
Last week we had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the British Heart Foundation and Brain Tumour Research at our headquarters, where we proudly handed over a £100,000 cheque to each charity.
This momentous occasion marked the culmination of our most successful Matched Charity Initiative to date, with every pound raised by our dedicated colleagues being generously matched by Morson Group CEO Ged Mason.
Every year our colleagues are given the opportunity to nominate organisations with personal significance. For 2023, the British Heart Foundation and Brain Tumour Research were chosen, the latter being a poignant tribute to the late Dr. Kevin Gorton, a former Morson Group director who passed away from having a brain tumour. The selection process not only reflects the compassion within our organisation but also the commitment to making a real impact on issues that matter.
To celebrate the remarkable success of our fundraising efforts, a lunch gathering was organised with charity representatives Tania and Hayley, alongside members of our dedicated charity committee. During this event, we presented the cheques, added the amounts to our donation tree, and raised a toast to the collective achievements of our team. It was a moment of pride and unity as we reflected on the positive change our contributions would bring to the lives of those in need.
Our colleagues demonstrated unwavering dedication throughout the year, organising various creative fundraising activities. From office bake sales to hamper raffles, a charity bike ride to golf days, and even a daring fire walk – every initiative contributed to the substantial amount raised. The commitment and enthusiasm of our team were truly commendable, showcasing the power of collective effort when driven by a common goal.
Both the British Heart Foundation and Brain Tumour Research expressed their gratitude for our collaboration, emphasising the significant impact our donation would make on the lives of those affected. The funds raised will be crucial in supporting research, awareness, and care for heart disease and brain tumours, making a tangible difference in the ongoing fight against these health challenges.
As we reflect on the successes of 2023, Morson Group is eager to continue its commitment to philanthropy in the coming year by raising money for Dementia UK and Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
Here’s to 2024 - Our business is defined, not by what we gain, but by what we give back
