Morson Talent is currently working with a leading motorsport company to find a skilled Composite Inspector to join their Aerodynamic team and contribute to the the F1 team’s success.
- Location: Oxfordshire
- Hours/Shift: 4 on 4 off or Monday-Thursday Nightshift
- Rate: Days: £26 + holiday pay OR £33.79 Nights:£31 PAYE + holiday pay OR £40.28 UMB
- Contract Length: Initial 6 month contract, with the intention of being extended into the winter build season
Contract Length: Initially until the end of the year, with a possible extension looking likely
The position:
We are looking to recruit a Quality Control Inspector to join our quality control team. The role consists of measuring and checking parts for conformance to specification and performing other metrology and analysis tasks. Components could be made by any of the prevailing techniques used in Formula 1 vehicle manufacture – but predominantly metallic machining.
As a Quality Control Inspector your main responsibilities will be:
- Applying knowledge of manufacturing technologies to aid in inspection of metallic and/or composite components.
- Use of metrology tools and methods; visual inspection, hand tools, programming and operating CMMs, use of Absolute/Romer arms (probing and scanning), shadowgraphs, surface testers and contour tracing machines.
- Ensure that parts are inspected and processed during the required time periods.
- Show excellent communication skills in reporting pertinent information to designers, manufacturers and other members of the team.
- Effective organisation along with a proactive approach to using procedures that encourage continuous improvement. You will take pride in your work and be able to operate with minimum supervision.
- Be flexible to provide support in composite quality control if required
We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector with the following skills:
- You will possess a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Proven experience within a Quality Inspection, fast-faced environment.
- Strong GD&T understanding
- Previous Polyworks experience is extremely advantageous.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
- Hands-on experience with 3D scanning equipment and CNC CMMs is extremely advantageous.
- Structured approach to work organisation with well-developed time management skills
- You will need to work well as part of a team, working diligently to priorities set by the Quality control manager/shift lead.
