We have an exiting new opportunity for a CS&A Architectural Technician for our client to be based in Whitehaven, West Cumbria.
About the Role:
The role requires an Architectural Technologist to provide architectural design core skills to support Sellafield Ltd.
This will involve the production of architectural design packages to support our customer’s needs both now and in the future.
The work will typically include small to medium sized design tasks with a ‘quick turn around’ to support plant/operations and projects as required.
The post holder will be expected to undertake the necessary design tasks as required by the PFDO CS&A Responsible Engineer/Lead Architectural Technologist.
The hours for this role are 20 hours per week, this can be spread across 5 days or covered in 2-3 days.
About the Project:
You will typically work in a team on either a refit/refurbishment of our existing facilities, or new build tasks.
Work will involve the following: Building envelope design, architectural detailing, environmental design, materials specification, building information modelling, nuclear plant layout, fire safety, security in design.
You will also produce key documents/drawings across the RIBA design work stages, including:
The undertaking of site surveys and assessment of existing buildings/components, covering architectural performance issues.
The production of option schemes, building layouts, details and specifications to support design packages within the CS&A office.
The production of design models/drawings using Autodesk suite of software, including Autodesk Autocad, Autodesk Revit Architecture, and associated BIM support packages.
Coordination of design schemes with other disciplines (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Process etc).
Carryout out ‘Designers’ responsibilities under CDM regulations.
The production of Planning and Building Regulation applications.
