Senior CSA Technician

Senior CS&A Technician (12-Month Contract)

Location: Warrington (3 days onsite per week)
Contract Type: Inside IR35

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Technician to join a dynamic design team undertaking Civil, Structural, or Architectural design activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide technical guidance and support to projects, as well as mentor and develop others in the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support for public and private sector clients across the UK and internationally.
  • Prepare designs for facilities, structures, and infrastructure, producing models and drawings using Autodesk tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, across various design stages.
  • Collaborate with integrated, multidisciplinary teams to develop effective design solutions, promoting team cooperation.
  • Fulfill specific BIM roles as required by projects, applying an understanding of BIM principles and processes.
  • Ensure high standards of client communication and design presentation.
  • Assist and mentor CS&A Apprentices and other Technicians to foster technical and professional growth.
  • Provide solutions to complex challenges during the design, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning phases.
  • Accurately report progress and task completion estimates to the Technical Lead as specified.
  • Allocate and manage discipline tasks to a team of technicians, check outputs, and ensure cross-discipline design integration adheres to company and regulatory standards.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of engineering, architectural, and design practices relevant to the discipline.
  • Proficient in CAD software with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of design and detailing, CDM regulations, and designing for construction.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety standards, authorized documentation, Good Practice Guides, and ISO standards.
  • Ability to support projects with technical guidance while mentoring team members.

Additional Requirements

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work with attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to work onsite in Warrington three days per week as part of the contract.
  • Availability to commit to a 12-month contract inside IR35.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills
Essential:
• HNC minimum in a relevant discipline OR equivalent academic qualification
• Experience across the full lifecycle of design activities
• Knowledge of CAD tools and BIM processes
• Knowledge of General Engineering and Architectural Drawing Practice
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines
Desirable:
• Member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable experience
