The Offshore Converter Station Coordinator is a key role within the East Anglia Three team and a critical
role to deliver the OFCS scope off works.
The role reports into the Offshore Construction Manager, within the project construction team.
The position is for the East Anglia Three project and will initially be based in the ScottishPower Tudor
Street office working with the OFCS team to identify and create an offshore program however, once the
asset is installed the position will be based within the Lowestoft construction office to coordinate and
manage all offshore operations in connection with the OFCS.
The role will be to coordinate and manage all operations on the OFCS that occur after the offshore
installation and cold commissioning of the OFCS is complete, including but not limited to Convertor Station
commissioning, maintenance, modifications, export cable pull in, IAC cable pull in, welfare, LSA and
platform housekeeping and all safety related processes. The role will be based onshore ensuring the
offshore team delivers to a clear plan of works which has been aligned with the project construction and
commissioning strategy.
A high level of co-ordination is required to ensure the smooth running of all contracts and efficient use of
the limited space at the port. The role will be supported by the Offshore Convertor Package Team and the
Project Execution team. The role will be responsible for the platform managers that will be based offshore
for the duration of the works.
• Managing the OFCS work areas and all support areas, running the daily Coordination/SIMOPS
Meetings
• Lead the coordination of all activities with the development of a consolidated OFCS postinstallation and cold commissioning activities plan to include all works and packages.
• Manage and coordinate all planned and ad hoc maintenance activities post-installation and cold
commissioning
• Manage and coordinate all post-installation and cold commissioning modifications works on the
OFCS with the support from the OFCS team
• Manage platform POB and make key decisions on maximising capacity and works that will take
place.
• Coordinate and chair planning reviews for all works associated with the OFCS post-installation
and cold commissioning.
• Ensure all SIMOPS planning is conducted in line with project procedures and all
stakeholders/work managers are informed and briefed.
• Provide written and verbal report to the EA3 team as and when required
• Develop and manage appropriate offshore works programme
Lead health, safety and environmental management during construction
• Ensuring all company health, safety and environmental procedures, policies are followed and
complied with
• Ensure offshore hazardous operations are managed and ALARP mitigation is applied
• Directly support all packages with onshore and offshore logistic planning and implementation
with activities on the OFCS
• Ensure site operations are executed in a smooth and non-interrupted schedule of construction
works under their control
• Ensure the subcontractor’s compliance with its contractual obligations
• Ensure SPR interests are protected both onshore and offshore
• Is aware of the contractors on site and all relevant team leaders of the contractors working for
the project
• Ensure Q&HSE policies and procedures are maintained during the offshore works
• Ensure all modifications, snagging and outstanding works are tracked within SPR database for
efficient work management
• Support EPCI handover and site access requirements when contractors request access to the
platform along with checking competencies of workers
Create planning forecasts, raising work order, reviewing reports, and recommending actions to
be taken
• Lead SIMOPS planning and appropriate daily/weekly calls/meetings
• Comply with on-site Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental (QHSE) requirements
• Read, understand and comply with Company Policies and Procedures at all times
• Organise (as per the Construction Manager and site teams instructions) and participate in
toolbox talks, safety meetings/campaigns and assist the QHSE team in reporting
• Liaison with site management and construction teams and provide support as required
• Supporting into the project scheduling, progress tracking & reporting, development of measures,
Check and verify the contractor’s progress, costs and daily reports
• Support with hand over from contractors and to the Operation & Maintenance Department
• Participation on regular coordination meetings for ensuring the continuous and smooth delivery
of services provided
• Support with coordination between Installation and Commissioning post-installation and cold
commissioning (assist with hand overs / responsibility transfers and offshore daily planning)
• Daily tracking of the status of works and disrupted workflows in relation to the installation
schedule
• Planning the works of the contractors for the upcoming days/weeks to minimise SIMOPS
clashes between the contractors
• Participates in all coordination meetings
• Ensure that the construction support works are completed to specification and schedules, sign
off completion certificates etc
• Ensure construction arrangements and methodologies of all contractors form a coherent and
optimised approach that meets all project, company and legal requirements.
• Prepare internal and external weekly and monthly reports
• Ensure OFCS welfare provisions are adequate for POB on-board. (waste, housekeeping, wellbeing)
• Ensure all LSA is certified and in date and suitable for the POB on the asset
Electrical or Mechanical degree or equivalent
Must hold and maintain GWO training and certification, and offshore medical certificates to meet
all offshore requirements

• Advanced awareness of Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental related to construction
• Proven ability to work in a construction site’s environment
• Excellent IT Skills are essential
• Understand and demonstrate a clear knowledge of the construction process
• Ability to manage and many different contractors and sub-contractors
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction management
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of products (excel, word, PowerPoint).
