We have an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR CE&I ENGINEER who can be based at our clients offices either in Warrington or West Cumbria.
About the Project:
The Substation Replacement project (Sub 15) is a strategically linked electrical infrastructure project that aims to provide a safe, secure and resilient supply to all reliant downstream feeds by initiating a Substation replacement programme, for which Sub 15 is the first one being implemented. Substation 15 has already exceeded its ONR agreed extended lifespan of 40years and as such requires to be replaced to meet future demand of the site for the next 40years.
About the Role:
The role will involve the delivery of engineering design in support of Substation replacement for the provision of 11kV Substation Module(s), Switchboard and Ancillaries.
The role requires good knowledge of design, construction and commissioning of 11kV Substations, HV and LV cable routing and associated control cabling.
The role will support the AXIOM CE&I Engineering Lead / AXIOM Area Engineering Manager and experience of the following is required:
Site Surveys of electrical assets.
Design of services,
Plant/Site modification (design and implementation),
Nuclear Safety and Hazard Management,
Attendance at HAZOPs and HAZCONs
Support the production of engineering documentation and drawings, including but not limited to Site Survey Reports, Single Line Diagrams (including protection diagrams), Cable Routing, Block Cable Diagrams, CDM Risk Assessments, Cable Calculations Cable Cards, Outline Installation Method Statements, CAE, input to optioneering, etc.
BIM input where required
Support to Single Discipline Design Review & Production of Minutes of Meetings.
Support to Multi Discipline Design Review & Production of Minutes of Meetings.
The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept, preliminary and detail design phases as required to the appropriate Sellafield Standards.
The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery throughout the complete project lifecycle.
The role requires interface with the Integrated Design Team, Utilities and Other project functions. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
Visits to Sellafield in line with Project requirements will also be required.
Essential Qualifications:
Degree qualified CE&I Engineer (or equivalent through enhanced experience).
Essential Experience:
A minimum of three years’ experience working within a highly regulated industry.
Familiar with a range of available CAE technologies and techniques.
Capable of independent and autonomous work during the delivery of design packages.
Capable of working closely and effectively with Engineers to deliver compliant design deliverables.
Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, Utilities and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
Able to manage a package of work being delivered by the supply chain.
Be able to present information in forms specifically aimed at a variety of target audiences.
Ability to demonstrate competence in a design role (SQEP) in line with the role description detailed above.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in use of AutoCAD
Experience in use of AVEVA electrical or similar CE&I design packages,
Experience of any Sellafield or nuclear industry CE&I Design.
Chartered (or close to chartered) engineer.
Experience of leading work packages providing guidance to junior engineers in establishing solutions to technical problems.
