Morson named Largest Engineering Staffing Firm in the UK in latest SIA report

​Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, have released its 2018 report on the Largest Engineering Staffing Firms in the UK. Morson Group tops the report featuring the top 10 staffing and recruitment firms ranked by their 2017 UK engineering staffing revenue.

Morson Group, Matchtech (Gattaca) and Fircroft are the largest three UK engineering staffing companies based on UK engineering revenue. These companies’ combined income accounts for 26% of the entire market’s revenue.

They are followed on the list by two companies also headquartered in the UK – Rullion and Orion Group. Together, these five firms account for 33% of the market, in terms of revenue. 

Overall the top 10 firms accounted for 41% of the market in 2017.

“We estimate that the revenue generated collectively by total UK engineering staffing market increased by +2% in 2017” said Matt Norton, Senior Research Analyst at SIA. “The engineering staffing sector accounts for approximately 30% of total UK professional staffing market.”

The UK engineering staffing market has faced challenges in recent years although its resilience has come to the fore in the past twelve months. Candidate shortage prevents both a challenge and opportunity to staffing firms as demand remains strong particularly in infrastructure, construction and rail. The extent to which growth prospects will be affected by the ongoing business uncertainty surrounding the Brexit negotiations is yet to be seen.
