Risk Practitioner

Our Client, Urenco; trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for a x2 Risk Practitioners on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester. The purpose of the role is to provide risk management support across the Urenco Group Projects portfolio and to the individual business units projects as required. Providing risk management guidance to multiple projects of varying sizes, complexities and types of work.

Rates are negotiable - Umbrella (Inside IR35)

The Risk Practitioner will support a number of projects to provide lifecycle risk management support from initial risk workshops through to full schedule risk modelling and support to maintaining and improving project risk registers. Ensuring the provision of timely and accurate programme / project level risk and opportunities reporting to inform and influence business decisions.
The Risk Practitioner will normally be working remotely from their line manager providing a service to multiple customers and are therefore expected to be able to work with high level of autonomy, minimal support and have the capability to adapt to different environments and cultures.

Safety Culture

  • Actively promote a pro-active safety culture throughout the project lifecycle and across the organization
  • Maintain KPI’s for safety statistics

Risk Management

  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to multiple disciplines and report upon risk identification/mitigation progress and outcomes to Senior Leadership, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly risk and opportunities reporting, including maintenance of risk registers and mentoring of project management community to ensure adequate mitigation strategies are put in place.
  • Responsible for the production of both qualitative and quantative risk analysis to support funding proposals across the URENCO Group.
  • Promote opportunities and make recommendations to Senior Leadership on opportunities to enhance profitability and improve efficiency to all levels of the business.
  • Build effective relationships within the Group projects organisation to aid in developing and driving improvements to enhance control measures, risk awareness, and opportunity management.

Education & Qualifications Required

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Project risk management qualification such as IRM / PMI RM
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Probabilistic modelling experience - Primavera Risk Analysis
  • Probabilistic modelling experience - @risk

Specific know-how and skills required

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Personable, self-motivated, highly organised, team player
  • Knowledge of planning and estimating processes, procedures and best practices
  • High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills and well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel Visio and PowerPoint
  • Good attention to detail with good time management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly within the demands of the project Exhibits a strong awareness of the level of interaction required with the project team function to support the successful delivery of projects
  • Conversant in business English
