SZC is a groundbreaking nuclear new-build project following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC). Located in Suffolk, this transformative initiative has secured planning approval and Government financial backing, with construction already underway. SZC is seeking private investment to complete a facility that will generate reliable electricity for 6 million homes over 60 years, playing a key role in Britain’s journey to Net Zero by 2050.

The Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of rail contracts and work packages associated with this major infrastructure project. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of rail contracts or work packages.
Ensuring full compliance with all relevant Network Rail standards.
Maintaining clear and effective communication with stakeholders, suppliers, Network Rail, and the wider project team.
Responding to tender queries, participating in supplier meetings, and providing input into technical reviews during the tender process.
Managing and resolving contract or package issues promptly and effectively.
Delivering the agreed List of Deliverables related to the scope of works.
You will bring industry knowledge and expertise gained within the rail infrastructure sector.
The Skills and Experience We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in the design and/or delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
A strong understanding of the CDM Regulations.
Familiarity with project management methodologies such as APM’s Body of Knowledge or OGC’s PRINCE2.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
The ability to adapt and reprioritise tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
