We have an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR EC&I ENGINEER to be based at our clients premises in West Cumbria.
About the Project:
The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority(NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.
The BEP Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out inline with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).
About the Role:
An engineer to interface between design departments and the construction/commissioning partners at the construction site.
Responsible for:
Coordinating Technical Queries and Concessions between construction/commissioning and the design teams.
Coordinating with construction and commissioning to respond to Fault Observations and defect notices.
Focal point / first point of contact for emergent construction and commissioning issues.
Experience in a role providing advice and assistance for:
Interpreting design
General construction and commissioning issues
Walk-downs, snagging and inspections
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
Hold a minimum HND or equivalent
Experience in a role to support construction and commissioning, with recent relevant exposure to work in the nuclear industry.
A self-starter with good communication, analytical and team working skills.
Experience of delivering and handover of engineering packages to construction partners:
Familiar with EC&I design drawings, reports and specifications.
Delivery of approved written work, i.e. technical specifications and reports.
Familiar with a pragmatic approach to the application of applicable standards and practices.
IOSH Managing Safely
Relevant trade card - ECS
The ability to obtain BPSS is essential for this role.
Design Tools/Software:
Familiarity with CAD tools e.g. AutoCAD, PDMS viewer, Aveva
Microsoft Office, MS Teams, SharePoint
