Technical Author

We have an exciting new opportunity for a TECHNICAL AUTHOR to be based at our clients offices in West Cumbria.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Technical Author with a Mechanical, EC&I, or equivalent craft background to join our FGMSP technical documentation team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining various technical documents, collaborating with engineering and design teams, and ensuring all documentation meets quality and safety standards.

Essential Experience and Characteristics:

Technical documentation production.
Mechanical, Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) knowledge.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Attention to detail.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Time management and organization.
Problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of health and safety protocols.

Software/Tools:

Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Excel.
Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software (advantageous).

Certifications & Standards:

ONC or above in an engineering subject.
IOSH Working Safely (preferred).
BPSS or SC Security Clearance (advantageous).
