Morson are delighted to be working with a leading Wolverhampton based aerospace client to recruit a Parts Transfer Manager for a 12 month contract to manage the movement of parts either within the external supply chain or from an internal manufacturing source to an external source. Candidates must be ok to work 3 days/week in Wolverhampton.
The Parts Transfer Manager will liaise with a variety of departments such as NPI & the wider supply chain to enhance processes, support transfers as they proceed through gateways as well as supporting the FAI process.
The ideal candidate will be process driven, an advanced Excel user and have a keen eye for process improvements.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
• Within the parameters of the Work Transfer Passport Process support the Commodity Teams and work with the Regional Supply Chain Teams to understand capabilities and capacities within the supply chain and agree appropriate timescales for transfers based on Regional and Supplier capacities and commitments.
• Create and monitor Overlap plans to deliver seamless transfer of product. Overlap plans to be created following Work Transfer guidelines and in support of Business Inventory Management activities and policies.
• Manage CAI and FAI processes supporting and managing Supplier design data queries and change requests.
• Manage Suppliers to deliver to plan and support Business escalation process for customer impacts
• Own, deliver and lead P3 & P4 stages of Work Transfer Passport Process.
• Manage Standard work and feedback for Transfer Team Key processes.
• Support NPI strategy and plans for transfers through NPI program life.
• Using Actuation defined Standard Work Project Manager to be accountable for or support.
• Development of project plans (once Source change has been approved) with the Regional Teams and new source that meet the business objectives.
• Appropriate technical reviews with key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
Essential skills:
• Previous experience in operating in a work transfer role or environment
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Ability to demonstrate a process improvement mindset
• Technical knowledge in a Manufacturing environment
Desirable skills:
• Project management experience. Knowledge of MS project would be advantageous.
• Experience of working with suppliers in an international supply chain.
• Ability leading small teams
• Data driven
• Ability to automate & embed new processes
• Knowledge of SIOP would be helpful
• SAP knowledge is desirable
